Description

In this commission piece,the client’s only request was to think “Grand Canyon”. So I tried to capture that through an abstract, fluid interpretation.

The composition features a vivid river of cool blue slicing diagonally across the canvas — symbolizing the Colorado River — while the surrounding terrain bursts with warm desert hues of burnt orange, red, sienna, and gold. These swirling colors mimic the eroded rock formations and layered sediment of the canyon walls, evoking both movement and timelessness.

The contrast between the cool river tones and the fiery landscape creates a striking balance of energy and serenity. The fluid technique, likely acrylic pour or resin-based, gives the impression of flowing earth and water, as if the viewer is witnessing the canyon from an aerial perspective where nature’s elements blend seamlessly.
